The Centre was founded by Tim and Charlotte MacCaw. After many years in London, whilst Tim was an International Lawyer and more recently trained as a Homeopath and Charlotte as a Professional Tennis Coach (and member of The All England Lawn Tennis Club, Wimbledon and Satvik Energy Therapist), they moved to Stoke Trister in 2003. Juliet MacCaw, (Tim'mother who died in 1994), was well known in the area as a remarkable radionics practitioner and healer and who paved the way for the future creation of the Manor and gardens for a healing centre.
Brief history of the Manor House, Stoke Trister More to come!
The Manor House has a long history dating back some 600 years. The hamlet of Stoke Trister is mentioned in the Doomsday Book and in more recent times the Parish Church and grave yard of Stoke Trister were located in the grounds of The Manor before being relocated up the hill by the Victorians in the 1830s. Each successive generation since the 1950s have put their heart and soul into repairing The Manor House and creating gardens with springs running down from the hill sides, and in more recent times (2003), the development of the farmyard (which had been derelict for some 40 years) into the present day Courtyard of Vale Centre. (Vale Cottages, Vale Healing, Vale Sports)

In the fields below the house if you follow the lie of the land you will see hollows and ridges indicating trout fishing ponds and a cock fighting pit.
Stoke Trister is on the Magdalene lay line which runs from Brockley to Hambledon Hill as identified by Peter Knight and Tony Perrott as part of the Wessex Astrum
Peter's book is called 'Wessex Astrum , Sacred Geometry in a Mystical Landscape' www.stoneseeker.net
